The Relationship between Psychological Security and Achievement Motivation in Aleppo University Students in the Liberated Area

Abstract:

The study aimed at exploring the nature of the connectivity between psychological security and achievement motivation of the students of Aleppo University located in the liberated area. The two scholars adopted the descriptive analytical approach. To put the purpose of the research into being, a sample of 100 M/F students of 2020-2021 academic year was selected based on available / non-random way. They made use of psychological security measure of Shkeir (2005) and the achievement motivation measure of Khalifa (2006). The research came to the following conclusions:

  • There is a higher level of psychological security in the members of the sample.
  • There is a higher level of achievement motivation in the members of the sample.
  • There is a statistically significant and positive connectivity between the average scores of the sample members on the measure of psychological security, and their scores on the measure of the achievement motivation.
  • There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the sample members on the psychological security measure according to sex variable (male-female).
  • There are no statistical significant differences between the average scores of the research sample members on the achievement motivation measure according to sex variable (male-female).
