Reality of Applying Programmes of Social Solidarity to Support Education in the North of Syria and Identify the Difficulties

Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the of applying programmes of social solidarity to support education in the North of Syria and identify the difficulties, the programme of Midad for social solidarity as an example, from the perspectives of the beneficiaries and the parties in charge of it. It also tended to identify the difficulties that might face it. A random sample was selected from the city of Idlib and the west of Aleppo made up of 158 beneficiary teachers and administrators, in addition to 28 persons in charge of the programme. The researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach and constructed two questionnaire for the research purposes reviewed and developed according to the methodology of questionnaire construction.

The results showed that the level of applying the solidarity programme is appropriate. They also clarified that the majority of those in charge of the programme positively considered its application. As for the difficulties, the results showed that the hardest difficulty in the face of the programme from the perspective of the beneficiaries and the ones in charge of was “the poverty prevailing the local community”. The results showed no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05≥α) among the averages of assessment degrees of the sample members, beneficiaries or in charge of the programme, attributed to the variable of sex (male, female).
