Abstract:

The study aimed at identifying the effect of crises on the academic achievement of students of economy and administration department in the Syrian universities located in the liberated north in the courses of accounting in the 1st and 2nd years, and the differences of results according to a group of variables. The scores of the students in the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021 of The University of Sham and that of Gaziantep applying remote teaching because of corona crisis, and the universities of Aleppo and Idlib in the liberated areas applying traditional teaching. The results were as follows:

  1. There are differences in the students’ academic achievements in the courses of accounting attributed to the type of teaching (remote, traditional) to the favor of the remote one.
  2. There are differences with statistical significance in the academic achievement of the students in the courses of accounting related to the university they enrolled in to the favor of the private universities.
  3. There are differences with statistical significance in academic achievement of the students in the courses of accounting to the favor of the 1st year.
  4. There are differences with statistical significance in academic achievement of the students in the courses of accounting related to the social gender to the favor of the females.
