Abstract:

The paper aims to examine the relationship between Facebook addiction and the academic achievement in a sample of students of The University of Aleppo/Liberated areas.

The two scholars adopt the correlational Descriptive analytical approach. The sample is of 60 students randomly selected (available sample). The scale of facebook addiction (BFAS) is the study tool. The students’ score of academic achievement is accessed. The statistical methods followed are: Pearson Correlations, Chronbach’s alpha, Spearman-Brown prediction formula, t-student test.

The paper concluded that the level of facebook addiction at the sample members is low-rated, the academic achievement rates good. A negative correlation functions statistically at 0.05 scale among the members of the sample. With no statistically significant differences at scale 0.05, associated with the variable of gender.
