A field study at the University of Gaziantep-Afrin””

Abstract:
This study aims at identifying the attitudes of students of the faculty of education at the University of Gaziantep – Afrin towards the use of maps of concepts in teaching methodology. To achieve the purpose of the research, the scholar designed a measure for the attitudes made up of 27 phrases. Once reliability and – are assured, the measure was applied to a sample of 40 students, 21 of them belonging to department of classroom teacher, while the other 19 psychological counselling. The results showed that:
- The attitudes of students of Gaziantep – Afrin University were average.
- No differences of statistical significance were found concerning the average scores of the sample members on gender basis.
- No differences of statistical significance were found concerning the average scores of the sample members on specialization basis.
The research concluded with the following recommendations: encouraging the lecturers to use maps of concepts in teaching methodology and include some conceptual maps in their lectures.
