Abstract

The research aims at identifying the gap between Higher Education outputs and the requirements of the labor market, and recognizing the mechanisms proposed to achieve harmonization in the Liberated Areas. The analytical descriptive approach is applied to a sample of 46 persons engaged in corporations of the labor market and 111 graduates of the higher study institutes. The scholars used a questionnaire as a study tool that proved fair and consistent.

The research comes out with the following results: the corporations of the labor market divided the problems of the gap into problems related to the graduate (1st axis) to an average and non-significant degree problems related to the higher education institutions (3rd axis) to a large and significant degree, and problems specially related to their sector (2nd axis) to a large and significant degree. The graduates, in turn, divided the problems of the gap into problems related to the institutes of higher education (2st axis) to a large and significant degree, and problems related to the corporations of the labor market (2nd axis) to a large and significant degree.

There are no statistically significant disparities between the average of the graduates’ points of view and that of the corporations of the labor market as afar as the problems of the higher education institutes are concerned. There are, however, statistically significant disparities between the average of the graduates’ points of view and that of the corporations of the labor market in terms of problems related to the labor sector.
Key Words: gap – higher education – education outputs – labor market – efficiency of education – graduates.
