Counselling Needs of University Students in Time of Crises

Abstract

The paper aims to identify the level and priorities of counselling needs to university students in time of crises, and verify the differences of statistical significance in the diversity of counselling needs of the sample members according to the variable of gender and social status, and the highest ten needs and the lowest 5 ones. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach and applied the tool to a sample of 678 students, of which 388 male and 290 female.

The results showed out:

  1. The level of university students’ counselling needs in time of crises rank medium.
  2. Depending on the average and standard deviation, the needs were prioritized as economic, academic, vocational, psychological, social then familial needs successively.
