Abstract
The research aims to verify the impact of a training program on developing skills of dealing with individuals with disabilities among teachers in inclusive schools in Azaz. To achieve this, a sample of 20 teachers was selected from inclusive schools in Azaz, using a convenience sampling method. The researchers then prepared the training program and tested the skills for dealing with individuals with disabilities.
A pre-test was administered to assess the skills of the experimental group in dealing with individuals with disabilities, followed by the implementation of the training program. After completing the program, a post-test was conducted to measure the skills, and a delayed test was administered one month later. The results were calculated using appropriate statistical methods.
The research concluded that:
- There was a very high impact of the training program on developing skills for dealing with individuals with disabilities among teachers in inclusive schools in Azaz.
- Significant statistical differences were found between the mean skills for dealing with individuals with disabilities in the pre-test and post-test, in favor of the post-test.
- No significant statistical differences were detected between the mean skills in the post-test and the delayed test, indicating that a significant percentage of skills were retained one month after completing the training program.
As a result, the researchers recommended the following:
- To benefit from the research program in developing skills for dealing with individuals with disabilities for as many teachers as possible in northern Syria.
- To organize ongoing summer training courses for teachers in inclusive schools aimed at enhancing their abilities to diagnose and address integrated disability cases in basic education schools.
