Abstract
This research aimed to develop a training program based on visual thinking skills for mathematics teachers and their educational competencies, addressing the needs of the educational field. The goal was to enable teachers to adapt to challenges and developments, thereby becoming more responsible. The training program was constructed in three steps: planning, implementation, and evaluation, with feedback utilized for each step.
The study was conducted on a sample of mathematics (female) teachers in Baghdad, consisting of 15 female teachers in the experimental group and an equal number in the control group. The results indicated that the experimental group, which underwent training based on the program developed by the researcher, outperformed the control group in measures of visual thinking, educational competencies, and students’ visual thinking. The training program demonstrated significant effectiveness for mathematics teachers.
