Effectiveness of a training program based on digital competence in developing critical thinking skills among social studies teachers

Abstract

The purpose of the recent research is to identify the effectiveness of a training program based on the application of digital competences approach on the promotion of prudent thinking skills as far as the teachers of social studies are concerned. The two researchers followed the descriptive approach to construct the training program and approach as to mark its effectiveness. The research sample consisted of 32 individuals spotted simply on random basis. The researchers depended on the theoretical frameworks available to produce the research tool represented by the scale of prudent thinking skills. On the verification of validity, reliability and discriminant validity, the scale developed from 40 items classified into five main domains. On analyzing the data using the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS), the researchers found out that there are statistically significant differences at p˃ 0.05 between the pre and post averages of the tool in favor of the post application. This signifies the effectiveness of the training program, related to which, a number of recommendations were submitted by the two researchers in a way to fulfil the aims of the research.
