Features of a Third Culture Formation among the Syrian Students Enrolled in the Turkish Universities

Abstract:

The paper aims to shed light on the concept of sustainability of Arabic culture among the Syrian people in diaspora, and seeks to identify the attitudes of the Syrian students in the Turkish universities to the sustainability of the original culture, and the formation of a third culture. A questionnaire forms were distributed to 88 Syrian students enrolled in the Turkish universities, and the paper came out with the importance of the emphasis on the sustainability of the Syrian culture and identity aiming to build a correct culture for them. The tool of study showed out the strength of linkage between the Syrian students and the homeland of Syria. Yet, this linkage needs guidance to build a Syrian identity and keep sustainable culture. The two scholars called upon the academic authorities in charge of the Syrian issue, content makers, educators, and those involved in the education field in general, to pay due attention to those who belong to the third culture so as to maitain their Syrian identity, persona and scholarship formation since they will be the future builders of the nation.
